The newest Southern California 7-Eleven convenience store opened today in Moorpark in the Campus Plaza shopping center.
This type of store is no stranger to the location, as the owner, Saib Alrabadi, has operated Faith Convenience Store there for two years. He recently decided to change over and take on a 7-Eleven franchise because he admires the company, he said.
"They've got a strong name and are a very responsible company," he said.
Though Alrabadi lives in Santa Clarita, he said Moorpark has much to offer business owners.
"Moorpark is safe, it's nice and I have a great relationship with the people of the city," he said.
Alrabadi expected between 1,500 to 2,000 people to come to the grand opening, which featured Laker girls, Bud Light ladies, Amp radio, a clown from Charm and Happy and, of course hot dogs and the chain's signature Slurpees.
The store, located at 6595 Collins Drive, next to Starbucks, is the tenth 7-Eleven to open in the greater Los Angeles region this month and is the second 7-Eleven in Moorpark. The other 7-Eleven is located at 530 E. Los Angeles Ave.
