City Bus Routes to Change

New routes will become effective Sunday.

As a result of a recent ridership study, Moorpark City Transit is changing routes one and two as of Sunday.

Route One will lose four stops—the Shasta and Los Angeles avenues stop, Goldman and Los Angeles avenues stop, the Hertz Street stop and the Maureen and Los Angeles avenues stop—and will gain stops at Moorpark Marketplace and at 875 Patriot Drive, east of Miller Parkway.

According to a statement by the City, the addition of the two stops will enable riders from the southwest portion of Moorpark to travel to the Marketplace in 14 minutes instead of the current 38 minutes.

One stop on Route Two will be closed—the stop at Spring Road at Rite Aid—and the Southampton Road and Christian Barrett Drive stop will be moved to another corner at the same intersection. The route will gain two new stops: one at Spring Road and Christian Barrett Drive and one at Patriot Drive.

According to the City’s statement, all bus stops will be updated with new schedules and maps to assist passengers waiting for a bus.
