Community Leader Jim Tierney Named to Moorpark College Foundation Executive Board

The Moorpark College Foundation announces the addition of Jim Tierney to its Executive Board. Tierney, Regional Operations Director with DaVita, has agreed to serve as a Member-at-Large for the registered nonprofit organization that raises funds to support the college and its students.

“The Moorpark College Foundation is very pleased for its Executive Board to gain the outstanding leadership of Jim Tierney,” said Elad Goren, Chair of the Board of Directors for the Moorpark College Foundation.

Tierney has served the Foundation since October 2008, most recently in charge of its alumni relations program.  Currently he works for DaVita, a leading provider of kidney care in the United States.  Additionally since April 2009 Tierney has served as a member of the Board of Regents at Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula.

Previously Tierney was Chief Operating Officer at InterPoint, and Principal at Pendleton Capital, LLC.  From 1996 to 2001 he served as a Captain and artillery officer in the United States Marine Corps, leading teams of up to 500 Marines in a variety of challenging stateside and overseas missions.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in government from Harvard University and a master’s in business administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

“Jim brings excellent experience and insight to our Executive Board, both from a business and a nonprofit perspective,” said Pam Eddinger, President of Moorpark College and Ex-Officio member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

The Foundation has scheduled its big annual fund-raiser, Holiday Lights at Moorpark College, for Saturday, Dec. 1.
