Introduction to Antique Clock Collecting, Maintenance & Repair

Do you have a curiosity about mechanical clocks? If you do, this workshop may be just what you need.

The National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors Chapter 190 Ventura & Santa Barbara County will be presenting a 2 day introductory workshop on antique clock collecting, maintenance and repair on July 26 & 27, 2014. It will be held at the historic Dudley House Museum located in Ventura at 197 N. Ashwood, adjacent to Ventura College. The workshop is open to the public and no prior experience is required - only your interest and curiosity about antique clocks.

Hours will be from 8:30 am to 4:00pm each day. There is a charge of $100 for the workshop. Class size is limited so sign up early.

Topics to be covered include a brief history of time keeping and the American clock industry, tips on clock collecting and clock care and repair. The main portion of the workshop will cover the theory of how clocks work and each student will disassemble and reassemble a single train movement. All necessary tools and the clock movements will be supplied.
