THE 4th OF JULY, INDEPENDENCE DAY WILL BE OBSERVED IN THE CITY OF MOORPARK ON JULY 4th 2012 WITH THE READING OFTHE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE.

Between the hours of 8:00A.M. and Noon, at the Moorpark Veterans’ Memorial located on the corner of Spring Road and Flinn Ave. The Boy Scout Troop 604 will read THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE. Restrooms will available at the police department as well as additional parking, if needed.

This day is celebrated nationwide with family gatherings, barbecues, picnics and how can we forget the firework displays. But more important it should remind all of us that this is the birthday of our country. None of would be happy if our family forgot our birthdays.

What a great way to start the day, listing to our scouts reciting the DECLARATION. OF INDEPENDENCE. I can't remember the last time i heard or read it.

Writing this article stirs emotions inside me, of patriotism and love of the United States of America. I hope it does you also.

Thank you to the Boy Scouts of Troop 604 for sharing their day with the City of Moorpark.

Happy Birthday America.
