Funeral Home to Host Evening of Remembrance

The evening of live music, camaraderie and sharing will take place Saturday.

The Perez Family Funeral Home on Saturday evening will host a ceremony of remembrance to honor those who have passed.

Now in its second year, the Evening of Remembrance gives those who have lost loved ones the opportunity to come together and remember with music, luminaries and a candle lighting ceremony.

This year, the event will feature live music by Nicole Pryor, who has just finished performing in Phantom of the Opera in Las Vegas, and local recording artist Jeremy Shoop. Also taking part in the ceremony will be bereavement counselor Christina Portillo.

Organizers invite participants to bring a framed photo—no larger than four by six inches—of their loved ones to be placed on a memorial table behind their candles.

While Perez Funeral Home has a new Moorpark location, the remembrance ceremony will take place at the home's Camarillo location at 1347 Del Norte Road. The event begins at 6 p.m. Saturday. Call 805-983-3457 or email PerezFamily1913@me.com for reservations or for more information.

Refreshments will be served following the service.
