Missed Connections: Paint Store Sweeper & Grocery Store Singer

Happy Valentine's Day from Moorpark Patch. Here's our attempt at helping Cupid out.

Ever wondered what would have happened had you just said "hello" and initiated a conversation with him? Or had just asked for her number? Not often, but occasionally, you get a second chance.

Craigslist offers a chance to establish a connection with someone with whom you've crossed paths, though it takes both a person to post a note and the right person to read it.

It can happen. After all, one recent Craigslist poster said, though admitting it sounds corny, "I check these missed connections several times a week . . . Whenever I see a woman in the mall or the grocery store that I think may have smiled at me or if we did a little innocent flirting in the checkout line, I will keep my fingers crossed that maybe she'll post on here. For some reason I just think that meeting that way would make a great story."

Paint Store: Hey. Saw you this morning (Friday) sweeping the paint store as I walked into the bank. You were laughing and beautiful and I'd love to get to know you.

Bank of America: I saw you today (Feb. 1) at the Bank of America in Moorpark. You walked into the bank while I was standing at the ATM; totally caught me off guard when you walked in and I forgot what I was doing. You pulled up next to me in a gray Honda Accord at the traffic light and looked over at me, again catching me off guard.

Singing the same song: I was in the grocery store yesterday afternoon (Jan. 24) and they were playing "How To Save A Life" by the Fray. I started singing along to myself, which is unusual for me, and then I heard someone else singing the same song. It was you. You were with a guy who probably wasn't your brother, which was a bummer because you struck me as interesting. Oh well. In the unlikely event you see this, tell me what store we were in so I know it's you.
