Moorpark CERT Training to Begin Soon

Learn to help your family and neighbors during emergencies.

Moorpark residents who are interested in becoming a part of the Community Emergency Response Team, or CERT, will have the opportunity next month.

The free training is a three-Saturday course aimed at teaching participants how to help their families and neighbors in the event of a disaster, especially one in which first responders may be unable to help everyone who needs immediate attention and residents may be initially on their own.

Topics covered in the course include disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue operations, CERT organization, disaster psychology and CERT and terrorism.
