Recreation Center to Host Game-Show Style Competition

The event will feature challenges similar to those on 'Minute to Win It.'

The Arroyo Vista Recreartion Center is looking for kids who think they've got what it takes to compete in a television game show style event.

The center will host a double-elimination tournament based on the show Minute To Win It, where competitors are given a minute to complete specific tasks. The competition, which is open to kids ages 10 to 15 will include some of the show's more popular games like Chop Stack, where players have to stack items using only chop sticks, and Bite Me, in which players must move paper bags cut to different heights and set on the floor onto five different podiums using only thier teeth (see videos).

The event will take place at Arroyo Vista Recreation Center, 4550 Tierra Rejada Road at 1 p.m. Jan. 28 starting. The entry fee is $5 in advance and $8 at the door. Spectator admission is free. For registration and more information, call 517-6300 or visit www.ci.moorpark.ca.us.
