Santa Train's Comin' to Town

This year, kids can learn dance moves ahead of time and perform them with Santa and his crew.

As he does this time each year, Santa is planning a visit to Moorpark aboard his Holiday Toy Express. He'll be pulling into town Saturday.

The 450-ton train decorated with holiday displays and 50,000 twinkling lights is part of a joint effort by Metrolink, ABC and Southland Firefighters, who collect toys at station stops for their Spark of Love toy drive.

The event generally features a live musical performance, and this year, Santa's inviting everyone to learn the dance moves he and his helpers will perform ahead of time and join in on the fun. See the moves on the Metrolink website. And view the Patch video to see what it looked like when performed at Santa's visit to the Chatsworth station recently.

Those who wish to donate to the Spark of Love toy drive should bring a new, unwrapped toy to contribute.

Santa is scheduled to arrive at the Moorpark train station on High Street at 7 p.m., but minstrels will be at the station and performing Christmas carols beginning at 6 p.m. Kettle corn and lemonade will be available for purchase and the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce will provide coffee and hot chocolate. Activities will take place in the Metrolink south parking lot.
