Boys & Girls Club of Moorpark's Annual Dinner & Auction Gala

The Boys & Girls Club of Moorpark will hold its 25th annual Dinner & Auction Gala on Saturday, March 31. This year the event has been moved to the spectacular Air Force One Pavilion at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. The theme of the auction, Great Futures Start Here, emphasizes the Club’s 25 years of supporting Moorpark’s youth and spotlights the three key outcomes it encourages in all kids: academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.

ABC Eyewitness News weather anchor Garth Kemp will serve as the event’s Master of Ceremonies. Kemp, who has been with ABC since 1998, is well known for his work in the community, ranging from the cause of pet adoption to his commitment to helping financially disadvantaged kids. Moorpark residents who watch Eyewitness News on weekday mornings have likely seen Kemp promoting the Spark of Love toy drive throughout the Los Angeles area, collecting toys during the holidays for kids in need.

Each year the auction has provided the community with an opportunity to have fun and bid on a variety of great
auction items while supporting the Club and its kids. Proceeds from the event provide the educational, leadership, mentoring and character building programs offered at the Club. According to auction Chair Linda Plaks, “this year’s 25th annual auction and dinner will be our best yet, and we encourage our neighbors, friends and local businesses to join us for this wonderful event.”

Business owners and individuals are invited to get involved by becoming event sponsors or by contributing auction items. Gift certificates, trips, time shares, gift baskets, artwork, jewelry, sports memorabilia, frequent flyer miles, and tickets to theater or sporting events are just a few types of donations that would be greatly appreciated. Event sponsors receive recognition in promotional materials and in the event program.  Item donors will receive recognition in the event program as well. Sponsorship opportunities range from $10,000 Platinum Sponsors to $1,750 Silver Sponsors. Each level includes an attractive list of sponsor benefits. For more information, contact the Club for a sponsor portfolio.

Members of the community can join the fun by purchasing a ticket or a table for the event. Reservations are $175 per person, but there is a special rate of $150 per person if tickets are purchased prior to March 9.  Ticket price includes the reception, dinner, and silent & live auctions.
