Library Sets Full Events Schedule for February

Here's what's going on at the library.

The has a full schedule of activities planned for February.

All of the programs are free and take place at the library, unless otherwise noted. Children’s programs are geared to kids in preschool through fifth grade. Teen programs are open to sixth through 12th graders.

The library will be closed Feb. 20 for Presidents Day. Call the library at 805-517-6370 for more information.

Family Storytime and Crafts: 10:30 a.m.  Come listen to stories, sing songs and enjoy a craft.

Feb. 4

4 Paws Book Club: 1:30 p.m. Paws 4 Healing provides a dog for children to read to for 10 to 15 minutes. A free book, sticker and bookmark will be given to each participating child. Sign up the day of the event on a first come, first served basis.

Feb. 5

Book Club for Adults: 2 p.m. This month, the club will discuss The Tiger’s Wife by Tea Obreht.

Feb. 7

Little Bilingual Readers: 11 a.m.  Come enjoy stories, songs, crafts and music in English and Spanish. Geared to toddlers to 4 years.

 

Teen Advisory Board Meeting: 4 p.m. Join the board to help choose new books, plan teen events and earn community service hours.

Feb. 8

Family Storytime and Crafts: 10:30 a.m.  Come listen to stories, sing songs and enjoy a craft.

 

Computer Basics: 10:30 a.m. The session will cover Microsoft Word. No computer experience necessary.

 

Teen Wii Wednesday: 4 p.m. Teens can come play with the library’s game system.

 

Adult Knit and Crochet Club: 5:30 p.m. Learn how to make your own wearable knits from the experts of the Active Adult Center’s knitting club. No experience necessary and supplies will be provided.

Feb. 11

Children’s Valentine Card Crafts: 1:30 p.m. The library will provide materials to make cards for friends and loved ones.

Feb. 12

Memories of Moorpark: 2 p.m. The Moorpark Historical Society will share the stories of those who helped shape the city into the community it is now. This event will take place at restaurant.

Feb. 13

Teens’ Valentine Craft: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Various craft supplies will be available all evening for teens to make Valentine’s Day cards for loved ones.

Feb. 14

Teen Movie: 4 p.m. Come watch The Notebook, based on the Nicholas Sparks book.

Girl Gaming: 1:30 p.m. Come play board, card and Wii games with your friends.

Feb. 21

Teen Craft: 4 p.m. Make a cool craft to take home. Supplies will be provided.

Feb. 22
