Meals Beyond Moorpark: Filling Your Tummy at Buddha's Belly

Find out what's in, what's out and restaurant specials beyond Moorpark.

We think the Shop Moorpark mentality is a pretty good thing, but so many Moorpark residents leave town daily to work in neighboring Thousand Oaks or Simi Valley, and more, still, drive into the Valley and beyond and we want to serve them as well. So on Mondays, we'll provide some tasty tidbits about what's in, what's out and specials around the Valley and Los Angeles areas in this roundup of restaurant news.

Jonathan Chu opened his third rendition of Buddha’s Belly last week at the  Oaks Shopping Center in Thousand Oaks. Other locations are in West Hollywood and Santa Monica. This modern pan-Asian eatery covers  the gamut from Japan, China, Thailand, Korea and Vietnam, and has a full beer and wine list, as well as some very fun mixology cocktails. New to the Thousand Oaks location is a sushi menu. Eat indoors or out under a heated patio. There’s also a private room for parties.

Prohibition Burgers and Beer in Tarzana is now offering a brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Create your own omelette or scramble and served with potatoes, fresh fruit or baguette toast ($9.25) or order a two egg special with beef, turkey, bacon or sausage and a choice of potatoes, sweet potato fries, toast or fresh fruit ($8.95). Accompany your meal with all you can drink mimosas—$10 a la carte of $6.50 with a food order.
