Target Renovations Begin

The store is adding a fresh food section.

The Moorpark Target is getting a facelift and the city is getting another grocery store—sort of. Remodeling has begun and by the end of the project, the store will have a new fresh grocery section, among other features.

This remodel will be much like the recent update to Simi Valley's Cochran Street Target and will include the addition of  fresh produce, fresh packaged meat and pre-packaged baked goods.

“The expanded food layout was created in response to research and feedback from our guests, who requested more fresh food selection,” said Target spokesperson Lou Ann Olson.

Changes are also coming to the shoe section, which Olson said will have more benches and mirrors and give the area “a more upscale and inviting presentation.” Improvements to the home department’s sales floor and fixtures and improvements in the beauty and baby sections are also coming.

Spokespeople for the Target corporation did not have an anticipated completion date for the renovation.

The Camarillo store is also undergoing improvements and Olson said other area Target stores may be updated by the end of the year, but she was unable to confirm any further specific stores.
