Football season is fast approaching... BEWARE!

I love football..not futbol...football. The good all american sport! The knock 'em down plow through 'em and score touchdowns sport. And to add to my love of this sport is my son who is obsessed by it. I knew this would be an adventure...just wasn't truly prepared. When you have a child involved in such a tedious atheletic endeavor...you must also be THAT involved. Practices...games..more practices..equipment... Gas for travels...and food! OMG..food. My kid is 180lbs and counting and nearly 6feet tall. I had no idea plowing into players could make someone eat so much! I seriously need a bank loan and 3 jobs just to provide dinner. He eats before he eats and then afterward. Never full I am constantly loading food in the oven or stove just to keep him alive! And then he tells me he needs to gain..gain...25lbs?? What??? I have to hide food just so his little sister and I won't starve. And so training has stated..then intense training and then...the season starts all over again. Will I survive this? Yes..mainly because my NFL hopeful is truly in love with football as I was with horses. My parents put up with smelly horse clothes and boots...moved so we could house my horse in our yard and even dealt with horse manure which actually helped my moms roses...and never complained. So it could be worse. He could be a criminal and all my money would be spent on expensive attorneys.. So I count my blessings..thanking my creator for football and my son! Hey..I'm just waiting for that SuperBowl moment when he wins and looks into the camera to mouth..Love you mom...that will be worth all this. And if he becomes a doctor, lawyer or grocery store manager instead..it was still all worth it. Parents must keep their kids dreams alive and sacrifices are necessary. So I still love football and still struggle with time and money but its okay. For now...I'm going to take a nap.
