5 Things to Know Today: Dec. 20

Tonight is movie night!

Welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today," a daily Patch feature that provides five quick tidbits of information in one spot. Here they are:

  1. Moorpark Patch is excited for . We're partnering with for this community movie night. Admission is free, but we are collecting new, unwrapped toys for boys and girls at Childrens Hospital, Los Angeles. Doors open at 6 p.m.; The movie starts at 7 p.m. Whether you've got kids or are a kid at heart, we hope you'll join us!
  2. Chabad of Moorpark will celebrate Chanukah with the community beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Vons shopping center, 4225 Tierra Rejada Road, with a giant menorah lighting at 5:40 p.m. There will be music, juggling and acrobatics and magic and comedy acts as well as traditional latkes, dreydels and more.
  3. Finally, the library will also screen A Christmas Story for teens at 2 p.m. today.
  4. Moorpark's lowest price per gallon for regular gas is down again. It's $3.49 according to GasBuddy.com. Find it at the Alliance station at 50 W. Los Angeles Ave.
  5. The National Weather Service is predicting a high near 63 and a low near 44 degrees.
