5 Things to Know Today: Feb. 26

Here are five facts to start your Sunday.

Welcome to "5 Things to Know Today," a daily Patch feature that provides five quick tidbits of information in one spot. Here they are:

  1. The Boy Scouts will have a fundraiser with specialty hotdogs and cupcakes from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Moorpark Presbyterian Church, 13950 Peach Hill Road. Patch is planning to be there, are you?
  2. Whether your thing is swing, hip hop, ballet and tap or even belly dancing, there's a class for it at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center—and it's not too late to sign up for any of them. Download a copy of the spring 2012 recreation guide or sign up for classes on the center's website.
  3. This week is fairly quiet at the library, but on Wednesday it is hosting a children's story time at 10:30 a.m. and board games for teens from 3 to 7 p.m.
  4. The National Weather Service is predicting a high near 67 degrees and a low near 44 degrees. The NWS is warns of possible heavy winds this morning, but says they should die down by about 11 a.m. It's also predicting a 30 percent chance of rain this evening, followed by a 50 percent chance of rain Monday and sunny skies on Tuesday.
  5. Moorpark's lowest price per gallon for regular gas is $4.27, according to GasBuddy.com. Find it at the Union 76 station at 13800 Princeton Ave.
