5 Things to Know Today: March 23

Here are five facts to start your Friday.

Welcome to "5 Things to Know Today," a daily Patch feature that provides five quick tidbits of information in one spot. Here they are:

  1. It's farmers market day in Moorpark. The market runs from 2 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot outside near the intersection of Los Angeles Avenue and Miller Parkway.
  2. The Moorpark and luncheon takes place Saturday. The show begins at 11 a.m. and the luncheon starts at 12:45 p.m. Tickets to just the fashion show are $5 and tickets for the show and luncheon are $35 for adults and $15 for children. Tickets are available at the Moorpark Library.
  3. The annual Spring Spectacular at Moorpark College's Teaching Zoo begins this weekend. Students will present themed animal shows and there will be special fun for kids, including face painting, games and more. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 31 and April 1, 7 and 8. Tickets are $5 for children and seniors and $10 for all others.
  4. The National Weather Service is predicting a high near 62 degrees and a low near 40 degrees.
  5. Moorpark's lowest price per gallon for regular gas is $4.31, according to GasBuddy.com. Find it at the Union 76 station at 13800 Princeton Ave.
