5 Things to Know Today: Nov. 26

  1. Today is the first day that fresh cut Christmas trees will go on sale at the Moorpark High School Christmas Tree Lot. Proceeds from sales of Christmas trees will go toward supporting MHS music programs. The lot is located at the Staples parking lot, 742 Los Angeles Ave in Moorpark. The lot will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and 5 to 8 p.m. on weekdays through December 21.
  2. The Moorpark California Highway Patrol invites you to support the CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to the Moorpark CHP Office at 610 Spring Street between November 28 and December 21. The toys will be delivered to hospitalized or disadvantaged children just before the holidays. For additional info call Officer Duarte at (805) 553-0800.
  3. The Moorpark Active Adult Center invites you to celebrate all November birthdays on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 11:45 a.m. The event features a Movie Star Red Carpet lunch starring Mary Anne Grayson, niece of MGM film star Kathryn Grayson. Reservations up to a maximum of 75. Call (805) 517-6261. Suggested lunch donation is $2.75.
  4. Moorpark's lowest price per gallon for regular gas is $3.71, according to GasBuddy.com. Find it at the Alliance station at 50 W. Los Angeles Ave.
  5. The National Weather Service is predicting sunny weather with a high near 74 and a low near 52.
