5 Things to Know Today: Sept. 18

Welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today," a Patch feature that, daily, provides five quick tidbits of information in one spot. Here they are:

  1. Today is the last day to see at the . The show is at 2 p.m. and tickets are $18 for adults, $14 for seniors, students and military personnel and $10 for children 12 and younger (though, note that some language and subject matter may not be suitable for children). Read the .
  2. If you have extra junk to throw out, today's the day to do it. It's free landfill day at the Simi Valley Landfill for Moorpark residents. The landfill is at 2801 Madera Road in Simi Valley and is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring proof of residency. 
  3. The City of Moorpark will host two affordable housing workshops for first time buyers, one on Monday and a second on Thursday. Both meetings are at 6 p.m. Buyers participating the City's affordable housing program must attend one of the meetings, which will be held at City Hall, 799 Moorpark Ave. Call 805-517-6243 for a reservation.
  4. Moorpark's lowest price per gallon for regular gas is $3.91, according to GasBuddy.com. Find it at the Alliance station at 50 W. Los Angeles Ave.
  5. The National Weather Service is predicting a high of 80 degrees and a low of 58 degrees.
