5 Things You Need to Know Today: July 10

Here's what's happening in Moorpark.

Welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today," a Patch feature that provides five quick tidbits of information in one spot.

Here they are:

  1. The Moorpark City Library's Novel Destinations themed book club for adults meets at 2 p.m. The club will be discussing A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby.
  2. Also at the library, the Friends of the Library are hosting a used book sale. You can fill a whole bag with books for just $3. The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through July 20.
  3. A reminder to Moorpark Unified parents: all students in seventh through 12th grades need proof of a whooping cough booster shot (Tdap) before starting school. The District's website suggests checking your student's yellow immunization card. The requirement is met if you have proof of a Tdap shot on or after their seventh birthday.
  4. The National Weather Service is predicting another sunny day with high of 80 degrees today. The low will be around 57 degrees.
  5. The lowest price for regular gasoline in town, according to VenturaGasPrices.com, is $3.77 per gallon at the Alliance station at 50 W. Los Angeles Ave. and the Union 76 station at 13800 Princeton Ave.
