Here's what's happening in Moorpark.

  1. Moorpark residents have a second chance to get rid of household hazardous waste, this time in Simi Valley. It's free, but you do have to make reservations. Call 805-517-6247 for more information or 805-583-6321 to make a reservation.
  2. The is on a roll. The bus continues making special summer trips to Zuma Beach through Aug. 18. Round trips are $5. Visit the City's website to see the bus schedule.
  3. Not that you could forget, given all the public service announcements about "carmaggeden," but just in case... the 405 Freeway between the 101 and 10 freeways will be closed this weekend. If you have to get to LAX, plan ahead. If you don't, stay home!
  4. The National Weather Service is predicting another sunny day with high of 83 degrees today. The low will be around 55 degrees.
  5. The lowest price for regular gasoline in town, according to VenturaGasPrices.com, is $3.77 per gallon at the Alliance station at 50 W. Los Angeles Ave.
