5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 6

Welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today," a Patch feature that provides five quick tidbits of information in one spot.

Here they are:

  1. Sing the songs of movie stars at the Active Adult Center with the Music Through the Ages program Tuesday. The class begins at 11 a.m. It's free, but you have to register, which you can do by calling 805-517-6261.
  2. Moorpark residents can take get rid of household hazardous waste for free in Camarillo Friday and Saturday. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 805-987-0717. For more information, call 805-517-6247.
  3. Start planning now for the Moorpark July Third Fireworks Extravaganza. Gates at Arroyo Vista Park will open at 3:45 p.m. Tickets are $3. The park will be closed that day for regular use.
  4. The National Weather Service is predicting a 20 percent chance of rain today with a high of 66 degrees. The low will be around 51 degrees.
  5. The lowest price for regular gasoline in town, according to VenturaGasPrices.com, is $3.97 per gallon. Find it at the Alliance station at 50 W. Los Angeles Ave.
