Christmas Tree Recycling Continues

Remove all decorations before recycling.

If you like to hold on to that Christmas spirit a little longer than some, you're in luck.

Though Moorpark residents have through Jan. 9 to leave trees on their curbside next to recycle bins for pick up, they also have the option of taking trees to a TreeCycle bin through as late as Jan. 11. There is one bin on Marquette Street and one on Park Crest Lane.

Finally, trees can be taken to the Simi Valley landfill at 2801 Madera Road in Simi.

All tinsel, garland, decorations and stands should be removed from trees. Also, no flocked or fire-retardant trees will be accepted for recyclng; instead, they will be collected as bulky items.

Place extra garbage and extra recycling in bags alongside solid waste carts on the first collection day after Christmas.
