Rotary Reenactment will continue today as scheduled

Skirmishes will take place under blue and grey skies

Moorpark Rotary has announced that today's "skirmishes" will go on as scheduled despite the overcast skies and muddy conditions for the soldiers and their horses.

Yesterday's re-enactors at the made the best of a bad situation after organizing members of the Moorpark Rotary Club decided to cancel official battle re-enactments but allow the rest of the event to continue.

Rain on Saturday had made the field in which the battles were to take place too wet to use, but re-enactors, vendors and the public were already at Underwood Family Farms, where the event takes place, so instead of canceling the entire event for the day, the organizers made the decision to let the rest of the event move forward, lowering the admission fee for the day to $5.

Today, however, the weather seems to be clearing and the hope is that all events can continue as planned.

The skirmishes may be limited in their scope, depending on ground conditions. Gates will open at 10 a.m. and the blue and grey events will take place at at noon and 2:30 p.m. All normal entry fees will apply.
