Fire Weather Watch Goes into Effect Tuesday

A high pressure over the Great Basin will bring gusty winds and elevated fire danger this week to Southern California hillsides.

A fire weather watch will go into effect Tuesday in the hills around Moorpark due to forecasted gusty winds, hot temperatures around 100 degrees and low humidity.

Nearby, a red flag warning will be in effect until 6 p.m Tuesday for the mountains in Los Angeles and Ventura counties and the Santa Clarita Valley, where winds could gust up to 30 mph.

In Moorpark, temperatures could reach up to 101 degrees, the National Weather Service predicted.
