Moorpark's 5 Things to Know Today: Sept. 1

Here's what's happening in and around Moorpark at-a-glance.

  1. is bringing melodrama back to the High Street Arts Center. Join the whistling cowboy and friends at 8 p.m.
  2. The Simi Valley Town Center will host a free screening of The Little Rascals and Bye Bye Birdie beginning at 1 p.m. at the mall's center court. The Town Center is at 1555 Simi Town Center Way, Simi Valley.
  3. It's not too early to order your tickets for the Sept. 30 I Am for the Child luncheon benefitting Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Ventura County. CASA volunteers support and mentor foster children in our community.  In addition to great food, there will be door prizes, a live auction and raffle for a luxury trip to Hawaii.  Moorpark's former Dodger, Ralph Mauriello, will perform Italian love songs.   4. The lowest cost of gas in Moorpark, according to GasBuddy.com, is $4.15 per gallon. Find it at the Alliance station at 50 W. Los Angeles Ave. and the Union 76 station at 13800 Princeton Ave.
