Moorpark's 5 Things to Know Today: Sept. 6

Here's what's happening in and around Moorpark at-a-glance.

  1. Moorpark residents are running out of time to get tickets for the Moorpark Foundation for the Art's major fundraising event of the year. Arts Under the Stars, an evening of dining, music, entertainment and a silent auction, will take place from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Thursday at The Walknut Grove, 3370 Sunset Valley Road, Moorpark. Tickets are $95 per person and are available by calling 805-208-3570 or 805-990-4273 or visiting the foundation's website and purchasing them online.
  2. It's PJ storytime night at the library. The free event begins at 6:30 p.m.
  3. The Grammy-award winning Chanticleer men's chorus will kick off its 35th season at 8 p.m. at Cal Lutheran University. The concert will take place in the school's Samuelson Chapel, which is located south of Olsen Road near the corner of Campus Drive in Thousand Oaks. Donations will be accepted.
  4. The lowest cost of gas in Moorpark, according to GasBuddy.com, is $4.15 per gallon. Find it at the Union 76 station at 13800 Princeton Ave.
  5. Today's high will be about 81 degrees with a low around 60, according to the National Weather Service.
