Moorpark Week in Review: Alleged Attempted Bank Robbery, Underwood Farm Reopens

Here's a recap of other Patch stories you may have missed.

We hope you hop on Patch many times a day each day of the week. But we also know you're busy—so, in case you missed some articles this week, here are our top five:

A man was arrested for allegedly attempting to rob a bank. Patch reported it first on Wednesday while police activity was in progress, though the Sheriff's Department wasn't ready to release information, and we followed up on Friday with more information.

The Sheriff's Department on Tuesday searched a home on Avenida Colonia near Princeton Aveue in connection with an old case. We linked readers to a VC Star article. The department declined to comment on the search at the time and continued to decline later in the week.

Underwood Farms opened back up to the public this week after its annual hiatus following the October to December busy seasons.

Because so many Moorpark residents knew Keith Lawrence, believed to be, along with his fiancee Monica Quan, one of the first victims of ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner's February killing spree, we shared a memorial video of the two posted online by Quan's brother.

Finally, we looked at which Moorpark businesses have had federal defense contracts and could have been facing an uncertain future due to the sequester looming this week.
