Moorpark Week in Review: Murder Suspect, Fatal Car Accident and Loose Horses

A 56-year-old woman on Tuesday died in a car accident on Balcom Canyon Road at Stockton Road just west of Moorpark. Janette Oakes-Brin's car collided with that of a 16-year-old girl, sending the girl and a passenger in Oakes-Brin's car to local hospitals. Oakes-Brin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nearby in Simi Valley on Wednesday, police found and arrested a woman in connection to the Riverside muder of the woman's roommate.
