Scene in Moorpark: Rainy Day Fountain

Moorpark was hit by a short bout of hard rain Wednesday morning that cleared to sunshine by the late afternoon. The National Weather Service is predicting a 20 percent chance of further showers into the evening and Thursday but we should see sunshine Friday and throughout the weekend.

The rain caused some fender benders in the city by noon, according to the Moorpark Police Department. Capt. Ron Nelson said the best advice he could give drivers is to slow down.

"Really, slow down and take your time," he said after relating how he was tailgated on his way to work in the rain.
