Summer Savings Continue at Local Grocery Stores

Here are Patch's picks for this week's best supermarket deals.

Frugal Family was pleased to see in this week’s mail fliers that good food deals are continuing beyond the recent holiday. We’re at a peak for summer produce, and our local grocers are right there with reduced prices for all to enjoy. If the holiday weekend was hectic for you and you didn’t get a chance to enjoy all of the specials,no worries. Take a look at what’s offered this week and don’t forget to check your favorite grocer’s website for even more deals.

  • Vons – Vons has highlighted some produce with extra-low prices. Yellow peaches are 77 cents a pound. Mangos are 77 cents each. One-pound containers of strawberries are two-for-$3 or $1.50 each. Large green peppers are two-for-$1. Vons is also trying to help the needy obtain food by selling pre-filled bags of groceries for $10 that are then donated to local food banks. If you haven’t had a chance to “pay it forward” lately, here’s an easy and affordable way to do so.

This week Albertsons also mailed out its Book of Savings, and it is full of specials, with and without the need for a coupon. If you haven’t signed up for Albertsons online, now’s the time. Sign up and receive a $5 off coupon good for your next shopping trip of $25 or more.

  • Ralphs – Ralphs joins the fun with a dozen eggs for 99 cents. Big K soft drinks, 12-can cartons are $1.99. Blackberries are two packs for $3 or $1.50 each package. Ralphs yogurt is only ten for $4. A 50-percent off pork sale is also taking place. And Ralphs is also continuing its buy-10-get-$3 off deal.
