Tree Recycling Begins Dec. 26

Remove all decorations before recycling.

Christmas tree recycling will begin in Moorpark on Dec. 26.

Residents can leave trees on their curbside next to recycle bins for pick up through Jan. 9.

As well, they have the option of taking trees to a TreeCycle bin through Jan. 11. There is one on Marquette Street and one on Park Crest Lane.

Finally, trees can be taken to the Simi Valley landfill at 2801 Madera Road in Simi.

All tinsel, garland, decorations and stands should be removed from trees. Also, no flocked or fire-retardant trees will be accepted for recyclng; instead, they will be collected as bulky items.

Place extra garbage and extra recycling in bags alongside solid waste carts on the first collection day after Christmas.
