Moorpark medical patients no longer have to travel very far to take advantage of the UCLA medical programs, doctors, technology and services.
The school last week opened a new Thousand Oaks medical building. The two-story, 18,000-square-foot facility offers a wide range of specialty services in addition to primary care. The building also houses bone-density screenings, ultrasounds, imaging studies and more.
Plans also call for geriatrics, obstetrics, medical nutrition and weight- management services to be provided soon.
Dr. Matteo Dinolfo, medical director of the UCLA Department of Medicine and associate professor of internal medicine, said the medical program has a large number of patients from the Conejo Valley.
"We're expanding to meet their needs," he said.
"Health care is changing and UCLA needs to change with it to remain one of the industry leaders," Dinolfo said.
The Thousand Oaks opening follows the opening of a Westlake Village office last year. Plans call for three additional area offices opening over the next two years. Scheduled locations are Porter Ranch, Calabasas and Santa Clarita.
The Thousand Oaks office is located at 100 Moody Court. It's open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., accepts most insurance plans and offers on-site parking. For more information, visit www.uclahealth.org/conejovalley or call 855-462-8252.
