DA to Host Crime Victims' Rights Ceremony

A march will follow the ceremony.

The Ventura County County District's Attorney's office is inviting the public to commemorate National Crime Victim's Rights Week with a ceremony and march it's hosting on Wednesday.

The ceremony will feature remarks by the daughter of slain Ventura County Sheriff's Deputy Peter Aguirre, who was killed in the line of duty while investigating a family disturbance in the Ojai area nearly six years ago.

Also, the district attorney will present a Crime Victims' Rights award to Senior Deputy Ryan Clark and Deputy William Hollowell for their work in a Lockwood Valley case in which a 10-week-old baby was murdered.
