Ronald Reagan Library:
"An American Christmas Exhibit" Opens at the Reagan Library. The exhibit includes a tour through the museum's winter wonderland featuring 25 trees decorated to celebrate the defining moments of America's road to greatness, from the Revolutionary Era to today. The library is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and new Year's Day. $15 general admission, $12 for seniors 62+, $9 for children 11-17, and free for children 10 and under. Arroyo Vista Recreation Center:
Dribble, Dish, & Swish Youth Basketball Competition: 5-8 p.m. at the Arroyo Vista Gym
Band Jam: The City of Moorpark is once again hosting this year's Band Jam, featuring local teen bands who will be playing at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center starting at 7:00pm. Bands include Ten Foot Swimmers, What Goes Up, The Siren Sons and Disconnected Dimensions. Musical genres include rock, punk/alternative rock, and acoustic rock. The event is designed for an audience 12 and older with a door cover charge of $5. Sodas and snack can be purchased at the event.
Saturday, November 19
Hazardous Waste Disposal:
A Household Hazardoud Waste Event will be held in Simi Valley. The disposal will take in materials such as motor oil and filters, chemicals, polishes and cleaners, antifreeze, pesticides and fertilizers, batteries, gasoline, paint and paint products, fluorescent light tubes and CFL bulbs, mercury thermometers, and other items. It's a free event to all Moorpark residents but you must call in advance for an appointment: (805) 583-6321.
Moorpark High School Battle of the Bands: The Sixteenth Annual Moorpark High School Battle of the Bands Field Tournament will be held at Moorpark High School stadium at 9:00 a.m. This event showcases over thirty-three marching bands and color guards groups from all over California. $10 admission. Held at Moorpark High School, 4500 Tierra Rejada Road.
Moorpark Public Library:
Moorpark Library will be hosting a Kids 'n Crafts Thanksgiving buffet at 1:30 p.m.
