Wet Weather Ahead

An approaching storm system will hit the area on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

According to the National Weather Service, an approaching storm system off the coast will bring Moorpark rain and winds through Tuesday night.

A moist air mass will develop across the region early Tuesday, producing three to eight hours of rain and between a quarter inch to an inch of rain, a NWS statement said. The highest rainfall totals are expected over western Ventura County and south-facing slopes in Santa Barbara County.

Snow levels will likely start above 8,000 feet ahead of the cold front and then lower to 6,000 to 7,000 feet through the day Tuesday. After the front passes, snow showers may develop with snow levels between 4,500 and 5,500 feet with the lowest snow levels on the back side of the Ventura and Los Angeles county mountains Wednesday morning, according to the NWS.
