Victim or Victor?

“A man who refuses to admit his mistakes can never be successful.  But if he confesses and forsakes them, he gets another chance.” Proverbs 28:13

Many people I know who found themselves in a tough spot, a stuck place, and situation where they wanted to move forward, but felt like they couldn’t, all too often stayed stuck because they became the VICTIM OF rather than a VICTOR OVER their circumstances.

Here’s a life principle to remember: The moment I stop blaming others for my situation is the moment I stop being a victim. And the moment I stop being a victim is the moment I start to move forward in life.

Every time you blame the boss. Each time you blame the parents, blame the company, blame somebody, you remain a VICTIM.

Early in the life of Simon Peter, in the Bible, he was embroiled in an argument about who was the greatest follower of Jesus. Within short order, Peter’s life spiritually crashed, when he failed the Lord over and over.

But after his crash, he was broken of all his pride and broken of all his excuses.  He stopped blaming and started accepting responsibility for his situation.  In that humble place, he felt like God could never use him.  But the truth was:  God could finally use him.

See, God doesn’t work in the life of the proud.  God doesn’t come to the rescue of the proud--the proud don’t think they need it.

But you give God a humble man…

You give God a humble woman…

suddenly, God is there.

His strength is there

His power is there in their life.

You say, “Brad, God can’t work in my life.  I’m so empty.  I’m so broken.”

You need to know, that’s a great place to be.

Each place of humility is the place of new beginnings.

Take responsibility for your past mistakes.  Refuse to blame others.  Come before God humbly and watch--just watch God begin to work powerfully in your life!
