Underwood Family Farms Set to Reopen

The Moorpark landmark is coming back from its annual public hiatus.

After the busy seasons of preparing for its annual month-long October harvest fest, which leads into Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Underwood Family Farms' Moorpark farm center closes for a couple of months. But it's set to reopen Friday.

The farm will be have its market, animal center and pick-your-own options available to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $3 per person on week days and $6 per person on weekends and federal holidays. Children age 2 and younger get in free.

A wide variety of produce will be available for picking this month, according to the farm's Pick-Your-Own calendar. Look for beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, cilantro, fennel, grapefruit, kale, leeks, lemons, lettuce, mandarin and navel oranges, radishes, spinach and strawberries.
