Moorpark's 5 Things to Know Today: July 17

Bring your children to the Moorpark Civic Center for a magic show and start planning for an exciting weekend.

  1. Magician Joel Ward will be at the Moorpark Civic Center at 2 p.m. to entertain children from preschool to 5th grade with his magical talent.
  2. Looking ahead, the Ventura County Astronomical Society (VCAS) will lend its expertise and hold a  open to the public. The event will take place on Friday, July 20, at 8 p.m. (weather permitting) at the Charles Temple Observatory of .
  3.  on Saturday, July 21. Admission is $5 and the event will take place at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center. 
  4. The  nomination period is now closed. Voting will begin on July 23. Stay tuned and vote for your favorite businesses!
  5. There's a chance of drizzle before 11 a.m. with a high near 73 and a low around 54, according to the National Weather Service.
