On this fun-filled Friday, take your pick: family movie, star party and telescope clinic or a Girl Scout Tea Party.

1. Calling all would-be Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies. Come to a  on Friday, July 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at  and learn more about becoming a Girl Scout. 
2. Cool off and take the entire family to watch "Puss in Boots" today at 2 p.m., at the Apricot Room of the Moorpark Civic Center.
3. The Ventura County Astronomical Society (VCAS) will lend its expertise and hold a  open to the public. The event will take place on Friday, July 20, at 8 p.m. (weather permitting) at the Charles Temple Observatory of .
4. The Ventura County Stand Down is ongoing today till Sunday, at the California Army National Guard Armory in Ventura. The will give homeless veterans access to shower facilities, hot meals, medical treatment and legal services.
5. It will be mostly sunny with a high near 81 and a low around 57, according to the National Weather Service.
