Moorpark's 5 Things to Know Today: July 24

Here's what's happening in and around Moorpark at-a-glance.

  1. Harpist and storyteller Joanna Mell will be at the Moorpark Civic Center today at 2 p.m. to present "Harp, the Amazing Dream Machine." This free event is suitable for families with children in pre-school to 5th grade.
  2. Have you hopped on the yet? Take it to Zuma Beach on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until August 16 and save on parking and gas. Fares are $5 round-trip for adults and students, $2 for seniors (age 62+) and children under 5 are free. 
  3. Today is the last day of the Ventura County Fire Department's , from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
  4. today. The polls will be open until midnight of August 17. 
  5. There will be a patchy fog before 11 a.m. with a high near 82 and a low around 56, according to the National Weather Service.
