The CRS designation for realtors and what it means

The CRS designation for realtors and what it means.

CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) is an NAR (Nat’l. Assoc. of REALTORS®) recognized professional designation offered by the Council of Residential Specialists.

As reported on the CRS website, “The CRS Designation is the highest professional designation awarded to REALTORS® in the residential sales field. Fewer than 4 percent of all REALTORS® hold the CRS Designation.”

As you can see from the below requirements, if your agent has this designation, you are most likely to get a professional, full time, seasoned agent, as the requirements are as such:

http://www.dre.ca.gov/gen_lic_info.html and go down to License Status Check and choose Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons. You can look up by name or DRE license number.  However, this site will not verify their NAR or other designations and/or certification as a Realtor.
