Parents Believe 11 Cases of Young People in Moorpark with Brain Tumors Could Be Related

Some parents in Moorpark have reached out to consumer advocate Erin Brockovich for help.

At least 11 teens in Moorpark have developed brain tumors, and their parents suspect that something in town may be to blame.

As a result, some parents in Moorpark have reached out to consumer advocate Erin Brockovich for help, according to CBS Los Angeles (see attached video).

Brockovich, who is famous for for helping obtain the largest medical settlement lawsuit in history from Pacific Gas &  Electric Co., has been contacted by some parents in Moorpark, according to CBS Los Angeles. Julia Roberts won an Academy Award portraying Brockovich in the film Erin Brockovich.

“It’s hair-pulling for most families because they don’t get their phone calls returned. They get the usual ‘statistically it doesn’t matter.’ They get the usual, ‘statistically it falls into the cancer statistics and we can’t give you any more information than that,’”  Brockovich said, according to CBS.

Brockovich says the problem is there’s no national database where people can report their diseases, cancers or brain tumors, according to the report.
