CHP Offers Teen Driver Safety Course

The class will take place Oct. 12.

The Moorpark office of the California Highway Patrol is again offering its traffic safety class for teens, Start Smart.

The program is aimed at helping young drivers realize the responsibilities that come along with the privilege of being a licensed driver in California.

In an effort to reduce the number of injuries and deaths resulting from traffic collision, the program also provides teens and parents information on defensive driving, traffic laws in California, dynamics of traffic collisions, tips on avoiding collisions and DUI awareness.
