DA Files Felony Complaints Against County Supervisor's Son

The Ventura County District Attorney's office on Monday filed multiple complaints against the son of District Four Supervisor Peter Foy, who represents Moorpark.

Peter Foy II was arrested Friday (see the Patch story here) and on Monday the district attorney filed charges with three counts of transportation of a controlled substance, one count of conspiracy to transport a controlled substance, second degree burglary and four counts of money laundering. In addition, the DA also alleged Foy suffered three prior illegal drug-related felony convictions.

Because of Foy's relation to the county supervisor, the district attorney's office sought a conflict review by the California Attorney General's office, which determined no recusable conflict exists in the newly charged case, the DA said.

Foy's bail was set at $500,000. He faces a maximum penalty of up to 24 years in county jail and is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday afternoon, according to the District Attorney.
