Detectives Arrest Moorpark Tagger

The sheriff's department expects to make additional arrests in connection with a recent graffiti crime spree.

Detectives with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department on Thursday arrested a 16-year-old Moorpark boy on suspicion of felony vandalism.

For two months, the sheriff's department has been investigating a vandalism spree in the city in which someone using a consistent monkier spray painted several walls and causing thousands of dollars in damages, according to a statement issued by the department Friday night.

After detectives developed information leading them to the male juvenile, they served a search warrent at his residence on the 300 block of Esther Avenue, where they discovered items linking the boy to multiple vandalisms, the statement said.

The boy is in custody at the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center and the Sheriff's department expects additional arrests and search warrants in connection with the investigation, according to the statement.
