Moorpark Man Could Face up to 12 Years in Prison for Burglaries

A jury has found Olman Romero Cruz guilty of four counts of residential burglary.

District Attorney Greg Totten has announced that a jury has found Olman Romero Cruz of Moorpark guilty of four counts of residential burglary.

All four burglaries occurred during the January 7 to 23, 2012 time period in the Park Springs condominium complex in Moorpark.

Cruz entered attached garages and took personal items from the garages and vehicles.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Ventura County Sheriff's Office-Moorpark Division, which included Cruz's arrest and recovery of evidence and stolen property at Cruz's Moorpark home.

After the jury's verdict, Judge Charles Campbell remanded Cruz into the Ventura County jail pending sentencing. Sentencing is set for July 10, 8:30 a.m., in courtroom 48.

With the jury's findings that Cruz committed four residentail burglaries and the trial judge's finding that Cruz was in violation of the terms of his probation, Cruz faces a maximum term of 12 years and eight months in state prison.
