Police blotter: April 14-21

A vandalism spree tops this week's blotter report.

The following Moorpark incidents were listed among the official reports of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department for arrests taking place April 14-20. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

The most notable crime during the third week of April was a graffiti spree wherein a known gang member was arrested for 17 acts of vandalism taking place in one night. (See the complete Patch story .)

 Theft

On April 15, items were taken from an unlocked garage on the 500 block of Spring Road; Items were taken from a vehicle parked on the 800 block of Los Angeles Avenue and items were taken from a business on the 800 block of Los Angeles Avenue.

On April 17, a 22-year-old woman was arrested for taking two bottles of perfume from TJ Maxx and two people were arrested for taking items from a business on the 800 block of Los Angeles Ave.

Vandalism

On April 14, someone damaged the rear window of a vehicle on the 100 block of Los Angeles Avenue.

On April 15, someone destroyed 99 plants and spray painted on shipping containers at a plant nursery on the 12,000 block of Tierra Rejada Road.

Some time between March 28 and April 20, someone left graffiti at a medical office on the 100 block of Los Angeles Avenue.

Controlled Substances

On April 14, a 51-year-old male was arrested for being under the influence of and being in possession of a controlled substance on Auburn Circle and a 39-year old male was arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance on Fremont Street when police found 10.96 grams of methamphetamine in his possession.

On April 16, a 39-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication and possession of a switchblade knife.

On April 19, a 33-year-old man was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance at Poindexter and Sierra avenues. The man was involved in a car accident that caused a power outage in the area. See the Patch story .

Other arrests

Five arrests were made for outstanding warrants and three DUI arrests were made.

On April 14, a 39-year-old woman was arrested for causing corporal injury to her spouse on the 1500 block of Varsity Street.

On April 16, a 19-year-old man was arrested for carrying a concealed fixed blade knife and having an illegally purchased handgun and ammunition in his car. He also had an expandable baton and samurai sword, which are considered deadly weapons.

On April 17, someone was arrested for trespassing on Los Pinos Circle.
