Police Blotter: July 14-21

Reported crimes for the third week of July include battery, theft and attempt to use fraudulent recycling vouchers.

The following are the latest crimes reported by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

A man was arrested for seven offenses of various types on July 21 when an officer stopped to check on the welfare of a driver of a vehicle stopped on the side of the road and saw items used for thefts, according to an arrest report. Offenses included having a weapon; having a tool for breaking into a building, car or other vehicle, and vandalism; keeping lost property that belongs to someone else; possessing marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

A 63-year-old woman was cited at Moorpark Avenue and Majestic Court for driving without an ignition interlock device after having been required to have one as term of probation.

July 15

Two people were seen spray painting graffiti with white paint at Poindexter Park. The people were seen leaving the park on Razor scooters.

Someone stole items from a locked garage on the 4700 block of Moorpark Avenue.

July 16

A 34-year-old male was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and for stealing items from a business on the 200 block of Los Angeles Avenue.

 A 43-year-old woman was arrested on Hitch Boulevard for being under the influence of a controlled substance, endangering children and delaying the duties of an officer.

July 17

An 18-year-old man was cited at Los Angeles Avenue and Spring Road for having alcohol.

July 18

A 46-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication and having an open bottle of vodka on the 11000 block of Mountain Trail Road.

A 40-year-old man and a 38-year-old man were arrested on the 100 block of Los Angeles Avenue for the intent to cash fraudulent recycling vouchers.

A 39-year-old man stole a computer and cell phone on Avenida Colonia.

Someone stole items from Radio Shack.

Someone used fraudulent checks to obtain cash from a business on the 100 block of Poindexter Avenue.

Someone stole $2,900 worth of property from a business on the 100 block of Los Angles Avenue.

July 20

Four immature potted marijuana plants were found on CalTrans property on the 1500 block of Campus Park Drive.

July 21

A 35-year-old man was arrested on the 500 block of Poindexter Avenue for assault with a deadly weapon after leaving visible marks on someone with a baseball bat.

Someone vandalized property on the 600 block of Spring Road.
